STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Step By Step Flipping Guide:

For those who are interested in a simple guide to making money buying items from thrifts stores and selling them on Ebay/Craigslist.

  1. Always go to thrift stores on sale days. Most stores will give plenty of notice before having a big sale. Goodwill often times makes an entire month calender that shows all of that month's sales.
  2. If you can't sell it for at least DOUBLE what you paid for it, it may not be a good investment.
  3. If you have a mobile phone, DOWNLOAD THE EBAY APP. This app will become your best friend when it comes to looking up not only the value of items but what most people have been paying for shipping so you know what to charge.
  4. Look up the value of EVERYTHING you come by. You never really know what an item is worth until you check. Eventually you will become knowledgeable enough to know if it's worth picking up, but as a beginner you should always do a quick search to make sure.
  5. Diversify your investments! Become knowledgeable in many areas of sale. The stock of thrift stores is always random and there may be a decline in the donation of electronics. You'll want to be able to buy other items like clothing, books, and housewares in case items in your niche aren't available.
  6. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS! Some thrift stores have generous return policies that you can take advantage of if you find out a name brand item is fake or if it really isn't worth what you thought it was.
  7. Sell large items locally on Craigslist to avoid shipping charges.
  8. Start small with Ebay to build a reputation with customers before selling high value items.
I'll continue to add tips as I think of them. Feel free to follow the blog to receive updates!
